The current IPL 2023 season is the most competitive ever, with five teams scoring 10 points each and two scoring 8 points. The results of these teams’ last 17 league games will have a significant impact on whether or not they make the playoffs. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI), two of the five teams with ten points, will meet at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. Both teams will be looking for their sixth win of the season after losing their previous two games.
Before the game, RCB captain Virat Kohli was involved in a touching social media story. A ball boy called out to him and asked for his bat as he was walking up the stairs at the Wankhede after practice. Kohli, who has been playing well so far, paused to listen to the boy’s request. He then instructed a member of staff to give the boy one of his bats.
Kohli has scored 419 runs in 10 innings of IPL 2023, the most of any batter in the competition. He has a strike rate of 135.19 and six half-centuries. However, his hit rate after the powerplay has been criticized for slowing RCB’s scoring rate and lowering their overall score. Kohli has scored 851 runs in 31 games against the Mumbai Indians, the third-most of any batter in IPL history.
Because both RCB and MI want to make the playoffs, their games against each other will be crucial. The Mumbai Indians have won the IPL five times. They are known for performing well in the second half of tournaments, so they will be eager to get back on track following their recent defeat. RCB, on the other hand, will strive to improve their overall game and avoid making any more errors if they are to win their first IPL title.
